Cannon Valley Trail

The Cannon Valley Trail is built on a former Chicago Great Western Railroad line connecting the cities of Cannon Falls, Welch, and Red Wing in beautiful southeastern Minnesota. This paved bicycle and hiking trail is 19.7 miles of diverse and spectacular scenery.

Paralleling the Cannon River, the Trail offers glimpses and panoramas of the valley and gradually descends 115 feet in elevation from Cannon Falls to Red Wing.  From overhanging cliffs to views of extensive wetland complexes, nature’s seasonal changes are vividly displayed.

Welch Mill Canoe and Tube

Canoe & Kayak

We offer twelve and five mile canoe and kayak trips for boaters of any experience level. Shuttle service, life jackets, and paddles are included with all rentals. Reservations are encouraged, especially for weekends and holidays.

Tubing

Welch Mill Canoeing and Tubing offers a long or short tubing trip. A VALID DRIVERS LICENSE is required to rent tubes (one deposit per group, maximum 15 tubes under one deposit). Life jackets are available upon request, free of charge. We recommend wearing a pair of tennis shoes or sandals on your trip. Anyone ten years of age or under are required to wear a life jacket according to law.

Cannon Golf Club

Running along the Cannon River, near the Twin Cities, is Cannon Golf Club, an intriguing course sprinkled with wetlands, ponds and streams that make for a fantastic round of golf. This is a traditional course that can be walked by those seeking a traditional experience. Our golf course lies in an oak savannah where the prairie meets the water.

Cannon Falls Parks

The City of Cannon Falls has several parks with a variety of offerings from sports facilities, river access, and trails as well as smaller neighborhood parks with a variety of playground equipment and amenities.

East Side Park, Hannah’s Bend , and Riverside Park all have covered shelter areas. Please note that there is a fee to reserve the park based on the number of guests you are anticipating.
